In talking to wellness pros, we often hear, between the lines, “I don’t have enough time to do what is most important.” In this Changemaker Challenge episode, Cate and Grace discuss the importance of strategy, organization and project management in pro healer career success.

Overwhelm is a choice. While you might just think you’re really busy, and you might think everything is working, the fact is that if you’re not leveraging your time, if your business isn’t scalable, if you don’t have enough time on any given day to do what is going to make the biggest difference for you and your career months or years down the road, you’re just spinning your wheels and and setting yourself up for more overwhelm.

Learning or creating a good strategy is the key to stepping out of overwhelm. Once you have a good strategy, you need to know how to implement it and make it real with time, attention, and rhythm. The first step is to identify which of your activities are optional, which are enjoyable, and what is scalable. Talk to Grace. She can help you identify the leaks in your time and energy and put you on the path to doing what is most important.

What you’ll get out of tuning in:

  • What’s at stake when we don’t have a way to efficiently meet our goals.

  • 7:40 – When things aren’t working that well, and you’re experiencing a loss of integrity, you need a better strategy. YHC is a better strategy.
  • 9:30 – Scalability is increasing your level of impact and income without increasing the amount of energy you’re expending or the amount of time you’re working. With yoga health coaching, it’s possible to increase impact and income while decreasing the amount of time you spending working.
  • 11:20 – While YHC teaches Cate’s strategy for scalability, Awake Living teaches you how to develop your own strategy.
  • 15:00 – Once you have a good strategy, you need to know how to implement it and make it real with time, attention, and rhythm.
  • 17:00 – Your strategy needs to be simple and you need to use the right tools for the right job.
  • 18:40 – Time blocking and using a project management tool is crucial to the success of the implementation of your strategy.
  • 22:20 – YHC finds the “leak” in your time faucet and teaches you to focus on activities that will allow you to scale your business. Schedule a conversation with Grace to get started!

Setting the Right Goals for Your Next Growth Phase https://yogahealthcoaching.com/setting-right-goals-growth-phase/ https://yogahealthcoaching.com/setting-right-goals-growth-phase/#respond Fri, 26 Jan 2018 11:14:54 +0000 https://healthcoaching.wpengine.com/?p=19147 This is Cate Stillman with Grace Edison, an enrollment coach at Yogahealer and Yoga Health Coaching. And we are talking today about setting the right goals for your next phase of growth. This is easier said than done. Often people set goals, but they’re not the right goals. Sometimes they set goals that are way beyond their skill level, and it becomes to challenging to actually accomplish them. Other times they set the wrong goal, which doesn’t build the right competencies to get to where they want to go next.

How do we set the right goals to lead us into our next stage of growth? And how can we actually achieve them? Tune in to find out.

What you’ll get out of tuning in:

  • Why you might be setting the wrong goals to get you to your next growth step
  • How to set the right goals to actually achieve them
  • Why you should time budget for all of your goals

Show Highlights:

  • 0:45 – Setting the wrong goals can lead us down a path that doesn’t build our competencies in a way that gets us to our next growth step efficiently. We can make broader, three-year phase plans in order to guide our smaller goals.
  • 2:30 – How can you tell that a goal is too big? Sometimes our ambition is high, but we don’t know what actually needs to happen. Body wisdom and check-ins can guide our intuition to recognize if that is the case. If it feels ungrounded, then it is.
  • 3:40 – Our goals should have a metric, a measurable number often representing impact or income. Once you have an impact or income goal, map it backwards to the strengths you have to leverage right now, and which ones you need to develop.
  • 5:50 – It’s helpful to have someone weigh in on whether you have the skills or capacity to reach your goals. This person should be someone who cares about you and who knows your tendencies, and who is also grounded in reality.
  • 15:00 – If you want to accomplish something, talk to people who have done it before, and make sure it is what you really want to do. Then inquire about how you can get more information, and make a plan to get it done.
  • 20:45 – Instead of trying to get it right every time, allow yourself to build the habit of developing a system around your goals, and grow from your lessons learned along the way.
